This and that country music related

New Music Tuesday.

I love “New Music Tuesday.”  Of course, I often am not buying new music… I end up buying old music that is new to me.  So that’s what you’re getting today.  There is some new and there is some old and maybe there are things that are new to you.  And maybe I’ll quit writing run-on sentences for you.  (Probably not)  Cold meds and blogging = insanity.

I don’t know about you, but I get bored with my play list a lot. I find that after awhile it ends up just being a Top 50 hits list and you can only listen to “Felt Good on My Lips” so many times before you just can’t listen anymore. I need a different voice to hear, something fresh. I find it that I’m going to social medial such as twitter more and more for new music.  Although, it’s more like new music is finding me.

New Music Thursday

Call me obsessed with music if you will.  I sit at a computer for probably 10 hours a day and in my car for 1-2 hours.  Music keeps me sane and in turn, the same old music gets boring.  To help fix this, I usually have a “New Music Tuesday” since that’s the day most new music drops… but I’m a bit behind this week.  Of course, I was inspired to download music when reading that Eric Church released an LP to iTunes that I was oblivious about.  Really? How did I miss that one?  (Thank you 9513 for enlightening me.)

Suds in the Bucket Line Dance

Well he must have been a looker, a smooth talkin’ son of a gun
For such a grounded girl to just up and run

Course you can’t fence time
and you can’t stop love

This is the song of the morning.  You know, the song that randomly pops up on your play list and there is a line or two that catches you.  “Course you can’t fence time” is one that always gets me.  Somehow I get the sinking feeling that “Suds in the Bucket” is going to be a life theme song in about 11 years with my oldest child… except for the fact that we don’t live in a small town, I don’t know where any biddies are drinking pink lemonade, and such. All in all, though, this is probably my favorite Sara Evans song…

But I suppose this somehow conveniently, randomly goes with the ability to post another video.  Kalli and I learned this one, but I’m just not impressed with the last 16-ish counts.  It just seems very haphazard to me, not as fluid as I’d like.  I personally tend to make it up and cheat.  I’m wondering if it’s just me?  I just had this “hey, let’s throw random steps and turns in at the end to fill out this dance” feeling.

Here’s a good walk through of it:

Here’s another demonstration:

And here is the step sheet.

What do you think about this dance? Do you have a better one for Suds in the Bucket? Favorite Sara Evans song?

Keeping me sane

Eric Church is keeping me sane this evening.  (Just downloaded the rest of this album from iTunes… not sure what took me so long to complete it.)

An’ how ’bout you?
Do you feel the way I do?
To tell the truth,
I think we’re the chosen few.
But that’s just me:
How ’bout you?
